HAJI MIR FAROOQ FROM PULWAMA JOINS PC PC WILL EMPOWER YOUTH: SAJAD LONE A well-known, young and dynamic social activist and businessman of Pulwama, Haji Mir Farooq who is the Chairman of the District Development Forum Pulwama, joined Peoples’ Conference today at the Party Head Office in Srinagar in the presence of PC Chairman, Sajad Gani Lone, PC General Secretary Rashid Mehmood, PC Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu and PC District President Pulwama Syed Mohammad Amin. Haji Mir Farooq who holds an MBA degree and has worked in the education sector, was accompanied by his supporters from Pulwama. Welcoming Haji Mir Farooq to PC, Sajad Lone termed this joining as a harbinger of many more joinings for Peoples’ Conference to come from South Kashmir in the near future. While speaking on the occasion of Farooq’s joining, Sajad Lone said that Peoples’ Conference was a party that believed in the power of the youth to change J&K’s rotten, corrupt, nepotistic and inefficient system of governance. We don’t believe in replacing one set of corrupt and inept individuals in the Legislative Assembly with another set of equally corrupt and inept set of individuals who hold the same traditional views and come from the same old political culture. Instead, Peoples’ Conference believes in changing the system by empowering educated and passionate youngsters to take on the reigns of this nation. Sajad Lone said that Kashmir needs young and educated people in politics who have the necessary education and exposure to understand the challenges we face and dedicate their lives to improving the lives of their people. Sajad Lone said that PC believes in idealism and is very selective in choosing the next wave of political representation that would carry the flag of Change. Speaking on the occasion, Peoples’ Conference General Secretary, Rashid Mehmood said that Mir Farooq joining was just a start from South Kashmir and a lot of dynamic and passionate individuals would be joining PC from South Kashmir in the very near future. South Kashmir too, like the entire State, is in dire need of a youth empowerment where educated and clean faces snatch the mantle from inept and corrupt political heirlooms who have either found their way into the Assembly by accident or default. PC Pulwama District President, Syed Mohammad Amin said that Peoples’ Conference, in the coming days would extend its outreach program to every corner of Pulwama District and emerge as a voice of the neglected constituents who have been left in the lurch by elected representatives whose sole aim was building empires on the ruins of a misgoverned State. Speaking on the occasion, Mir Farooq said that he had joined Peoples’ Conference because PC was a party that was working towards youth empowerment and had great conviction in the power of youth to Change the destiny of Kashmir. Mir added that Peoples’ Conference was attracting educated and emancipated individuals into the party fold and PC Chairman Sajad Lone was a strong votary of investing in and grooming young faces to take on the traditional faces that have toyed with the future of entire generations. Mir Farooq said that Pulwama was one of the so many Districts in J&K that was in dire need of Change and Peoples’ Conference would work day and night to offer the people of Pulwama a better, cleaner political alternative. Mir said that he had joined politics as the people of Pulwama were suffering immensely due to political indifference and neglect by the elected representatives. Mir said that Peoples’ Conference is the only alternative to save the State from a complete breakdown of political and administrative institutions and system.
