HALLOWEEN As a child my Christian family (Dad was a baptist - TopicsExpress

HALLOWEEN As a child my Christian family (Dad was a baptist pastor) and I celebrated Halloween. It wasnt until I was in my early 30s that the thought struck me that I was celebrating the devils holiday, so I stopped. There was no flag-waving or anything else when that happened; I just stopped/repented because of the Word. Deut 18:10-12 For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling or sorcery, or allow them to interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is an object of horror and disgust to the Lord. (NLT) Fast forward to 2011. Because of upbringing, I had been celebrating collective worship of God on Sunday. Then I stopped/repented. There was no flag-waving or anything else when that happened; I just stopped/repented because of the Word. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; you shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. (Lev 23:3 AKJV) Pretty simple. If you are willing to read the Word for what it says, you will find the need to repent.
