HANDLING OF EBOLA OUTBREAK TURNS POLITICAL IN DALLAS Local spokesman Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins interjects partisan politics into handling of Ebola quarantine (with which the family did not comply) Jenkins suggests official actions did, at least in his mind, rise to the level of partisan politics. In a nationally-televised press conference today from Dallas [see video clip, screen cap thanks to CNN], Judge Jenkins stated, “Last night we placed orders on a family. We did that after balancing many things. We do not intend to have to do that again. But, there’s nothing more important than keeping you safe and that, based on the information we had (which I will not be publicly disclosing to you today), it was clear to me—a Democrat—and Governor Perry—a Republican—and everyone who looked at that information, and the CDC today after we laid it out for them, that the actions that we took, while unusual, were appropriate.”
