HAPPENING NOW: From WTOC Dal Cannady...Sheriff Steve Jessup of McIntosh County just confirmed a plane did land on the exit 49 ramp of I-95 ( thats the Darien/Outlet Mall exit). According to Major Ty Poppel of MCSO, the pilot was taking the plane to Walterboro SC from somewhere in Florida when the plane had some sort of malfunction. The pilot suspects he had a gas tank leak and ran out of gas. According to Poppel, the pilot landed on the Southbound off ramp and coasted into the gas so not to block traffic. Nobody hurt.
