HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY TO OUR SON TECUMSEH SHAWANDASE (Panthers eye of the people of the south wind) CORRIE, it feels just like yesterday when I was on Pakuri Arawak Territory, sitting on the steps to the house, looking up at the new comet (Hyakutake) in the night sky, and listening to tribesman Glendon (Kank) Dundas say someone important is going to be born, then days later I was called to your mums side, hours after that I was holding your mums hand as you were being born into this world, I was not there to witness the birth of any other of our children...only you. Tribal Nurse Amanda (Nursee) Ferreira cut your umbilical cord and gave you to me to hold, then after proudly admiring my handsome second son I gave you to your mother to hold, as with all of you, it was a time of great joy and feasting in the tribal family...the old ones - many gone to the other side now, foresaw great spiritual things for you in this life, as they had with your siblings.....always remember that son, you come from a long line of men & women who had abilities not to be taken for granted, I might seem stern with you at times, but it is only because these teen years are the ones a child tends to make their most regretted mistakes...and I would prefer to help you avoid as many of them as possible (especially the worse ones I made).....I would not do this if I did not love you, when you fully realize your true potential in this life - you will thank me, your mum, your grandparents, your uncles, your aunts, and your cousins - for it son
