HAPPY 66th Birthday Mother Dearest... Maňanita a practice brought about by the Spanish influence as describe above. But in the Phils in recent times this becomes a way of serenading a person whos celebrating a birthday at dawn just before sunrise. Oftentimes this is a surprise to the celebrator and coffee, tea or just like any other Filipino gathering this activity ends up eating as in heavy morning meal in spite the fact the stomach of the celebrator still sleepy. The guests brings food as way to express their labour of love. Prior to this the guests conduct rehearsals of the song/s they thought would touch the celebrators heart.
