HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MADIBA Happy birthday to the world’s number one icon, democrat, fighter, teacher, moralist and South African’s first indigenous president, Dr Nelson Mandela. You mean so much to the world, a world full of evil, lust for money and power. You never craved for these. All you were after were peace, happiness, love and development not only to your people but to the world. In Africa where political leaders fight to acquire power and even fight to remain there for ever even if it means setting their state on fire in order to achieve their aims, you willingly stepped down. You have shown that the legacy we leave behind in this world is not the ill gotten fat bank accounts but the value we add to life and happiness we bring to the lives of others. Since 2010, the United Nations has declared your birthday, Mandela Day not because of your wealth but because of the positive things you gave humanity. All across the world today is celebration of your life and 67 years of sacrifice. You are a lesson to the various inept, clueless, corrupt and morally bankrupt leaders in Africa today. My family and I join other democrats the world over in wishing you a very happy birthday. Happy birthday, Madiba.
