Walked To Campus Records And Had To Go Inside To Buy A New Cassette Tape. When Going In He Noticed An Interesting Album Sitting Up Front In The Display Window. It Was Of A Cool Looking Dude With A Fender Strat A Serious Look And A Black Brimmed Hat ... There Was Something About That Album Cover That Just CALLED To Me ... THANK GOD I Was Listening !!! I Was Already Into All Styles Of Music And Had Been Listening To Lightning Hopkins And Jimi Hendrix ... I Wasnt Prepared For What I Was About To Hear When I Threw STEVIE RAY VAUGHANS TEXAS FLOOD Into My Walkman On My Walk Back Up To My Moms Work. There Have Been Many People Who Have Said Many Things That Praise Stevie Ray Vaughan And His Ability To Play Guitar And Sing And I Am Certain That They All Ring True ... BUT ... I Tell You That Day CHANGED MY LIFE ... SRV Has Shaped And Influenced My Taste In Music, Guitars & Amps Tone , Style Of Playing The Guitar. SRV Helped Me To Dig Deeper Into The History And Roots Of Music ... Not Just The Blues But ALL Music. SRV Struggled With Substance Abuse And WON THE BATTLE !!! SRV Always Kept A Humble Spirit ... There Was Strut & Swagger On Stage But It Was The PASSION & LOVE For The Music And Performance !!! Sadly Stevie Ray Vaughan Was Called Back HOME In August Of 1990 At The Age Of 35. I Miss You Brother & I Love You ... SIX STRINGS DOWN !!!
