HAPPY CHANUKAH EARLY! Okay I get it the majority of the world celebrate Christmas so like who cares about Chanukah? Yawn :) well when I was a child my next door neighbor Eugene got tons of Christmas presents. He even had a major display of the old trains down in his basement. Every year I was jealous even kind of jipped (does anyone use that word anymore?) when Christmas rolled around. I wanted to be Catholic; like than I could have a big tree to decorate, lights on the house, tons of presents and even watch the grown ups get drunk on Christmas Eve. At Easter when I saw Eugene with ashes on his farhead walking down the street, I no longer wanted to be Catholic because he told me he had to confess his sins to a priest-NOT Biblical. NOW I GET IT! At age 38 I had acknowledged Jesus as the promised Messiah foretold all over the Tenach, the O.T. & have my sins forgiven. Wonderfully, I have His PRESENCE with me now, Emmanuel & FOREVER!!! To all my Jewish friends I love you but you cant take your presents with you when you die. Never seen a U-Haul behind a Hearst. But receive the Messiah in your heart believing He died for you, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 53, Isaiah 9:6 and you will have His PRESENCE now & through out ALL ETERNITY according to the authority of Gods Word. By the way, I dont spin dreidals anymore but I love potato latkas with apple sauce or sour cream on them. Invite me to your house or just send me presents! :) My hope & prayer is that my Jewish friends will start reading the Bible! Most are biblically illiterate & its time not only to plan your next vacation, retirement... But for eternity. Lord, please bless each one that reads this post in YESHUAS name, Amen! Shalom you all, the Happy HEB. P.S. Chanukah, the eight-day Feast of Dedication, is when the Jewish people celebrate the victory of the Maccabees over Antiochus IV, King of Syria, in 164 BC. The earliest mention of this holiday is in the New Testament, where it says that Yeshua(Jesus) walked in the Temple on the Feast of Dedication (John 10:22-23)
