HAPPY NEW YEAR Allow me to explore the remaining phrases of 2 Corinthians 5:17 as quoted, “…old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. At this stage I will focus on how the new creation reality is being processed. When Paul said, “…old things are passed away; and all things are become new”, let us closely take note the transitions that are simultaneously occurring. The passing of the old things and the coming of the new things are gradual and progressive in nature. It is more accurate to say, “…old things are passing away; and all things are becoming new”. The new creation reward as we leave the old nature and cleave to new one goes through a miraculous process under the mighty hands of the CREATOR GOD. God does His part and we do ours. When we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the birthing of the new life occurs. However, that new life has to be cultivated. God by His Grace will empower us in the process so that the “Exodus of the old things will start and the Genesis of the new things will occur. The factual process of maturity that Paul is saying is, “ as our old things are passing away, we are becoming new everyday. All of these processes are by God’s Grace and Faith in the context of God’s SOVEREINGTY. HAPPY NEW YEAR = HAPPY NEW LIFE. To be continued 2016 by Bishop Labang.
