HAPPY THURSDAY!! So the vet came out to see our girl today for a check-up. She told Heather that she looks like a new horse!!! Woohoo!! We havent had a chance yet to speak with the vet but Heather said they switched her meds from the albuterol to a nebulizer administered medication. Check out the picture of her getting her nebulizer treatment. This is a very expensive medication but Heathers Mom had some on hand and she is donating it for her treatment. Isnt that awesome? Heathers Mom is also taking care of the farrier to trim her feet if he determines that she should be done now. Can you all chime with us in saying a huge thank you to Heather and her Mom? If this mare had shipped to Canada to be slaughtered, she surely would have collapsed in the trailer and likely died a painful and miserable death. There would have also been a good chance she would have died in the care of many of the QT facilities around. This girl was very sick and if it wasnt for the constant and exceptional care of Heather and the support of her Mom, we all would have lost this beautiful mare! Her coggins came back negative and she will be vaccinated over the next couple of weeks and then she should pass her health certificate exam and be ready to come home!! We cant wait to meet this girl in person and welcome her home! The barn is just about finished!! Well get pictures of the barn this weekend to show you what has been done. It took a lot of work and time but we are very happy with the end product. The horses love it too! The electrician came out yesterday and youll see a picture of Ben and George watching him work. They hung out at the fence line and watched what he was doing for quite awhile. Probably hoping they could stare him into bringing out a treat ;) The chickens havent made the page recently so tonight ... they are back :) Recently they find some entertainment in playing in the driveway. Why do the chickens like to cross the driveway? We have no idea ... ours just hang out in the middle of it. ;) A little chicken humor is good for all of us ;) We only have to sell 13 more t-shirts to make our goal!
