HARRISONBURG’S 17th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OPENS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2014 AT HILLANDALE PARK Celebrating our community’s rich intercultural diversity since 1995, the Harrisonburg International Festival, now a signature event of Fairfield Center’s Civic Engagement Programs, cordially invites you to our 17th Annual Event, Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 12:00PM – 6:00PM at Harrisonburg’s beautiful Hillandale Park. Bringing together an extravaganza of performing, visual, and culinary arts this remarkable microcosm of the world offers a smorgasbord of mouth-watering delicacies, an array of musical talent and dance, creative folk art, language and intercultural educational opportunities, a World Bazaar of exquisite handmade and imported art and souvenirs, and opportunities galore to warm your heart and share in the love with other like-minded people in our intercultural community. You will find delicious foods and pastries from Mexico, Thailand, Europe, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Jamaica, and Central America; a generous showcase of talent in music and dance from Aztec, Philippines, Eritrea, and Kurdistan artists; a parade of amazing tapestries in cultural fashion and dress, and a host of community organizations dedicated to the causes of environmental sustainability, green energy, and peace. A growing attraction drawing more and more people every year, last year’s event drew an estimated 8900 excited people from all walks of life, and a world of stories and talents to our tables and stages and greens.
