HARTLAND – Miller – George W. Miller, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. He was the loving husband of Inez (Jeremiah) Miller for 56 years. Born March 9, 1931 in Hartford; the son of the late George F. and Mildred Emily (Rand) Miller. In 1953, he graduated from Trinity College. George then served as a Captain in the Air Force. He was active in Politics and served as the Republican Town Chairman in Hartland. George was also an active choir member at St. James Church. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, George H. Miller and wife Jennifer of Hartland; two daughters, Sarah Nanni and husband Tony of Barkhamsted and Sandra Miller of Liberty, OK; grandchildren, Hannah, Georgia, Anthony, Chloe, Jake, Chris, Janelle, Kenneth and Corey and wife Angela; great grandchildren, Dylan, Amanda, Lily and Owen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Robert J. Miller and a brother, William R. Miller. Friends may call on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 6 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church, Winsted at 11 AM. Burial will be held in the spring with full Military Honors.
