HAUNTED CANBERRA: Weetangera Methodist Cemetery What do you think? Located South of the corner of Drake Brockman Drive & William Hovell Drive, the cemetery served the largely Methodist community of Weetangera between 1873 and 1964. Majority of the graves are for the family and the descendants of Thomas Southwell, who was responsible for the introduction of Methodism into the Weetangera area. A stone cairn near the entry marks the site of the Weetangera Methodist Church erected in 1873 (demolished in 1955). Most visitors experience dark and foreboding feelings, but some have reported the apparition of an old slim tall man that appears with a haze.
