HAVE WE ALL STARTED EXPERIENCING THE PROMISED CHANGE? Still on the state of the nation; Very recently I have been opportuned to watch a jingle sponsored by one pro Jonathan Campaign for Transformation Agenda on various media stations professing Nigerians have already started enjoying the promised change since the last 6 years reign of the man at the Centre,hence the jingle goes thus: Dr Martins Luther King Jnr of America did it, Nelson Mandela of S.A. did it, So so & so of india did it , & now Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is doing it, transforming the whole sectors of Nigeria from power -education-employment generatn,fighting corruptn,security etc Then I began wondering what the true meaning of Change is,considering the glaring state of the whole nation (either where insurgency had been recorded or not i.e the 36 states of the federation as well as the FCT). Ever since the inception of this present federal govt. led by the kindergatin President as described by one of the Nigerian Progressives,Ive had the opportunity to travel over 24 states of this nation right from back home here in Lagos down to the north east Kano; i.e.travelled the thick and thin of all the 6 south western states,through the middle belt region from kogi to Plateau state as well as parts of the south eastern states hence I have had the on sight opportunity to witness the deplorable economic state of these states ,to say the least its really appauling yet transformative agenda is on course for the past 6 years. Additionally,without seeking to bore you more about the discouraging & unpromising state in which we daily exist,I ll like to flash back our memory to some of the prices of some popular products at the inception of this federal govt led by GEJ; Peak milk either Nigeria or Holland brand was btwn 90 to 100 naira compared to 140 - 150naira as of the current mkt price; Cement that was being complained to be too high then was just btwn 1250&1350 naira compared to todays price of 1850naira; Petrol was 65 naira compared to the 97 naira we buy today; A bag of rice either Agric or Aroso brand also was just btwn 6,000 to 6,200 naira which now sells for over 7,000 naira; An American dollar exchanges for 150 to 155 naira as at then compared to now that we have to beg to exchange our 165naira for an American dollar........... & so on. Away from Inflationary prices now,talking about strategic policies for a better change. EFCCs slogan at the inception of this same govt. was see something ,say something + dont give,dont take but today the popular anti graft body which used to be a venum in the blood of the curropt Politicians so much so that even curropt female politicians wouldnt mind jumping a 100m high fence just to escape being aprehended by the anti graft body,has now even turned a friend of looters of the nations treasury all because we now have the Change agent as our President; Instances can be seen in Chief Bode George,Mrs Alison Deizani Madueke,Stella Odua,the popular police pension looter & famously known friend of GEJ Alhaji Meina,Dishourable Fakrook Lawal of the house of Rep,the very recent Presidential pardoned Mohammed Abacha,world acclaimed criminal Diepriye Alamesia,the recnt deception & extortion as seen in the failed employment in the Nigeria Immigration Service by Comrade Abba Moro,etc Conclusively,I beg to ask where is the promised Change? Before the inception of this same GEJ,security have never for once been a luxury in this nation called Nigeria but today we all know what it is ,from Kidnappers to Insurgency of the popular BH boys,inspite of the trillions constantly pumped into the ministry of defence not to talk of the proposed loan of 1Billion dollars again meant to campaign for return in 2015 in a disguise to fight insurgency. Unargueably,Electricity was just over 5,000 mega watts at his inception today the whole 160million Nigerians fight to apportion a mere 3,000 mega watts to the 36 states including the FCT.(Presently as i write,my community here in lagos have barely witnessed the PHCN electricity for 8 hours since July 1st up till now yet NEPA bill of 15 to 20 thousand never stops in a pure nuclear family residence) Education is no more a thing of pride as students now stay 2semsters on campus and spends 10months as a compulsory hols as their lecturers presses for thier demands using strike. Sincerely ,I am yet to know one good thing or sector that we can at the moment celebrate in this so called tranformational Administration as they jingle all media stations............Pls let no one mention the ministry of Agric ,its all an image making by the so called minister of Agric Adeshina Proff because if not I dont expect food produce in this country to still be almost unaffordable for the ordinary Nigerians even pure water is now 10naira yet the ministry of Agric and water resources is what they celebrate Finally,I also will attest to it that GEJ has succeeded in Changing the Bad Nigerian state into a WORSENED one indeed for the past 6 years ,hence it is Change in a negative ambit therefore lets all arise ,plan and enlighten ourselves that truely we dont just want a +ive Change but instead we are hungrily and thirstfully in dare NEED of a +ive Change. The poor and deplorable quality of the Nigerian University education has taken its toll on our President who seems not to know a +ive Change from a -ive one indeed . The future is here ,lets deviate from the mediocre of His name is Goodluck and lets vote in merit to get the Change we all seek. 2015 is here already vote for a Change Ayodele Jacobs Advices
