HAVE YOU EVER TAUGHT FRENCH, OR STUDIED IT EXTENSIVELY? -- SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH ME! :D I need to brush up on my formal French. Can anyone recommend some books, online courses, immersion programs, and/or other resources? Heres my situation: I learned French via immersion training in Cameroon, so I speak a very specific dialect - albeit fairly well - and have a somewhat specialized vocabulary. My knowledge of proper French grammar is loose, and I have limited experience writing in French. Since I have substantial experience in an immersion environment but relatively little formal training, it can be difficult to find resources that are appropriate for my level. (As an aside, I studied Spanish formally for 6 years in high school and college.) My biggest goals are to build my vocabulary and internalize proper grammar. I also need to be practicing listening and speaking on a daily basis.
