HAVING MONEY FOR AN EMERGENCY One in four Americans consider themselves blessed just to have paid the rent and have food stamps. A lot of people have “no” idea that sending the jobs to China and other countries, no idea that this hurt the American economy and the working class. They have no idea that the money IN THIS ECONOMY is going to fewer and few people. (It’s a blindness they chose to have, but 70 years is a long time to live, and it will catch up with them, before it’s over. 70 or 80 years is a marathon race of living, and the next decade just might be the one that they will have to pay for all the lying and deception that has been going on for the last 40 years. Every decade is different, with different challenges. If it was a question on SAT test they would answer it correctly, but in a world where everything is politics or political, “truth” is a rare commodity. I keep listening for someone to “DARE” to speak truth, and all I hear is a deafening silence. (Sorry, there are a few people that are speaking the truth about todays world, sometimes I just get carried away, and it seems like no one is.) You get very few likes for speaking the truth. It’s all politics, and if you speak for the poor and those left out of the game, you’re labeled a “liberal”. That word “Liberal” has become a stigma. Kindness, love, fairness are words you use at high risk. They were at one time good words. As a PIMP said in the 70’s and I didnt understand fully. “It’s all game”. And so it is. So I don’t expect anything to change, as they say, “Silence is golden.” There must be a lot of gold out there. Let fear dominate your hearts, if you choose, but you will hate yourself later. The 1%er’s are saving our money for us, they have most of the emergency money. How many people do you need to make poor, to create a billionaire? Surprise folks…. thats why we took math in school. Its all about mathematics, so if you’re good at math, it becomes easy to understand. However, I just happen to know that a lot of people don’t like Math or History, the 2 foundations of understanding and reasoning. Well they can learn to like them some what, IF they come to see the value in learning them. Many men cant even afford a good quality dress shoe in todays world, so they just say, Im dressing comfortable” Or “Casual!”. But in all honesty, they dont make good shoes that don’t hurt your feet, in this country, unless you just get lucky for a lack of a better word, or can afford to pay over $200 and more. Most of the shoes that men now wear are made in other countries. They don’t make good shoes for American feet, in other countries. Most men cant afford a good quality suit. Our emergency savings goes to the cell phone, and internet, unless you have a good job. But they sent many of the high paying jobs to China, where they got cheap labor that in the long run is proving very costly. Anymore questions? Oh, our emergency money buys food that continues to increase week by week. If the price doesnt go up, they just turn what used to be a 16 oz, bag of cookies, into a 12 oz bag of cookies, and few people are the wiser. A pound of bacon now cost between $4.99 to $7.99 for the brands that were $3.99, just 3 or 4 years ago. Bread has reached very close to $5.00 a loaf, and milk and eggs have definitely increased to the point you wonder how a family of just 4 can keep up. Emergency money has become money many need to get to the next month, and if you have emergency money, did you fall on your knees and thank God? I’m sure some did. Fear of speaking the truth has become an epidemic problem, so we just text it all away. And it is fear, fear that people won’t like you or support you on FB. Fear that controls your actions and thoughts. Fear is a dreadful feeling, in the heart of a human. It takes away self respect, from its owner, and whatever joy that could be had. They say, if your not doing good, it’s your own fault, but Ive seen money change hands overnight like in the stock market crash of October “1987”. It was like the game changed overnight, as the money changed hands also. Or in the 60’s in Detroit when everybody who wanted to work had a job, only to recently go bankrupted. Like my grandmother or mother used to say, “Your born, but not buried, you don’t know what your going to have to do, before you die”. However it is my wish and hope that your life will turnout “Blessed” G.C.
