HAWKS SOAR TO STATE MATH COMPETITION ON MAY 3!! Even though it was the day after prom, our mathletes were in tip top form at the Class 1A State Math Competition held at UIUC on Saturday. Look at these results :-) Algebra 1 Individual Exam: Yukai Yan 5th place overall Algebra 1 Team: 4th place (Jay Hollman, Baker Kipping, Mark Ma, Maddie Phelps, Amanda Warden, Yukai Yan) Geometry Individual Exam: Fei Yang 2nd place overall Geometry Team: 9th place (Tom Liu, Corey Steibel, Brock Vonderheide, Fei Yang) Freshman/Sophomore 8 person team: 3rd place (Jay Hollman, Mark Ma, Amanda Warden, Yukai Yan, Tom Liu, Corey Steibel, Brock Vonderheide, Fei Yang) Freshman/Sophomore Relay team: 5th place (Jay Hollman, Amanda Warden, Fei Yang) (Note: Fei Yang had to compete in two slots as this is a 4 person relay.) Overall team: 9th place CONGRATS to the team members and Coach Carrie Laur.
