HAWKS WIN!!! HAWKS WIN!!! A dominant 6-1 victory over the Blue Jackets at the UC for their 12th consecutive win against Columbus (did they really have to change conferences?!) It was the fourth line that got the ball rolling again tonight, as Brandon Bollig re-directed a Marcus Kruger wrister to put the Hawks up 1-0 early. Ryan Johansen tied it less than three minutes later, but that was the only Jacket strike of the night. With less than four minutes to play in the first, Andrew Shaw received a perfect long pass off the boards from Sheldon Brookbank and rifled a wicked wrister top-shelf to put the Hawks up 2-1. That goal snapped an 11-game goal drought for Shaw. The 2nd Period saw the Hawks take 15 shots and score on three of them. Jonathan Toews scored with 12 minutes left being on the receiving end of a great effort from Brandon Saad who dangled through the defense and found the Captain wide open. Four minutes later, Bryan Bickell scored his second goal in as many games, tapping in a rebound off a Kris Versteeg shot to put the Hawks up 3. That goal chased Sergei Bobrovsky out of the net for Columbus. Late in the period, Brent Seabrook fired a rocket from the point that hit off Shaws skate to give Shawzer his second goal and make the score 5-1 after 40 minutes. Early in the third, Tazer picked up his second goal of the night, and fifth in three games, thanks to a great passing play by Sharpie and Kaner on the power play. The Hawks went 4-for-4 on the penalty kill tonight, and the power play was 1-for-4, but finally had some sustained pressure throughout. Brent Seabrook had 2 assists, as did Marcus Kruger, while Corey Crawford made 21 saves in the victory. Its off to Patrick Kanes hometown of Buffalo for a Sunday night showdown with the Sabres.
