HAppy new year to all of us. may this new year bring forth greater blessings and prosperity like we have never known before. You would recall that sometime last year, the Foundation carried out an assessment exercise on some of the projects sited by Hon. Chukwuemeke Nwogbo within Awka in the course of his membership of the Federal House of Representatives. In the team were admin and non-admin members of this Foundation. We also pledged to do same, should we be invited by other politicians representing us at other levels. Individual members who were involved presented their experiences and accounts of this exercise, just as the admin also did same. These reports included pictorial evidences. It is worthy to note that Agujiegbe, one of the Honourables aides co-ordinated the exercise, as Hon. Emeke Nwogbo was out of town at the moment. It was left for individual members to decide whether or not these achievements were enough to attract their votes. That was outside our purview. We note with great disappointment, the misleading rumour making the rounds, to the effect that Hon. Nwogbo gave a cheaque to this Foundation on account of the exercise. It has also been alleged that the leadership of the Foundation cornered this money for itself. May we hereby state unequivocally that no form of gratification was received from Hon. Nwogbo on account of the assessment. It is also pertinent to mention that the essence of the exercise was not for the Foundation be paid, hence no form of gratification was expected. Hon. Nwogbo is a member of this forum and may wish to tell our esteemed members if any such gratification was received from him. If yes, he may also wish to mention the names of those who received it. Having said this, we recognise that Hon Emeke is a member of this forum and a son of Awka. May we state that if need be, we shall approach him for financial assistance just as we approach others. However, we understand that our people wont stop being our people. O nweghi nke a ya-ako ghu, e bo ghu ebo. Ibe anyi, bulunu!!!
