HB 1261 is a Bill being considered by the Mississippi Legislature. It is a Bill that lists specific breeds of dogs as dangerous. It also gives law enforcement the power to come onto your property and snoop around. No warrant required. It also requires that you buy $100,000 insurance policy if they determine your dog is dangerous. It requires that when in public, you keep your dog on a leash not to exceed 3. It gives the police the power to shoot your dog if they see it in public without a collar. If you are a Legislator in this State, and you vote for this bill, you are a tyrant. There is no other word to use. This is a clear violation of the 4th and 5th amendments to the Constitution. You took an Oath to defend those amendments. If you vote to violate them, a recall election in your district will be the order of the day. We, the people of Mississippi, have no other recourse.
