HC seeks Centre’s response on Mustafa killing... HYDERABAD: Taking a serious note of the alleged killing of a minor boy, Shaik Mustafauddin, in the Mehdipatnam army garrison in the city, the Hyderabad high court on Monday impleaded the Centre as a necessary party to the case, and issued a notice seeking its response. The court also directed the Hyderabad police commissioner to file a status report of the probe so far in the case. The bench comprising chief justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and justice Sanjay Kumar gave this order while hearing a public interest plea filed by Hyderabad advocate Gulam Rabbani, who wanted a CBI probe into the case as local police had failed to unable to effect any break through so far. The boy was found dead with burn injuries within the territorial limits of the Army Garrison at Mehdipatnam on October 8, 2014. Rabbani said Mustafa had clearly told the authorities in his dying declaration that two army personnel had set him ablaze. Except for registering a criminal case, the police had not taken any steps so far to arrest the accused army personnel responsible for the grave offence...
