HCA Virginia Names New Chief Nursing Officers of Parham and Retreat Doctors’ Hospitals HCA Virginia has announced the appointment of Brenda Woodcock, R.N., N.P., as chief nursing officer of Parham Doctors’ Hospital and Crystal Farmer, R.N., as chief nursing officer of Retreat Doctors’ Hospital, effective July 14. Both hospitals are campuses of Henrico Doctors’ Hospital. Woodcock and Farmer will be responsible for developing the nursing teams and clinical initiatives for their respective hospitals and will report to Zach McCluskey, CEO of Parham Doctors’ Hospital, and Terika Richardson, CEO of Retreat Doctors’ Hospital, respectively. “Brenda has a drive for quality and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for our patients, employees and physicians,” said McCluskey. Woodcock has served as associate chief nursing officer of Retreat Doctors’ Hospital since August 2011 where she leads the direction and accountability of over 150 nursing staff and patient care-related initiatives for the facility. With over 20 years of nursing experience, Woodcock has spearheaded important clinical initiatives at Retreat including working to earn geriatric NICHE designation, Cycle IV chest pain accreditation, and stroke certification. Woodcock received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. “Crystal has a proven track record of building and developing nursing teams with a focus on patient satisfaction and quality care,” said Richardson. Farmer has served as the director of medical surgery and telemetry at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital since 2010. In this role, she oversees clinical operations for 65 beds in two medical surgical units and one observational telemetry unit. During this time, the General Surgical Unit achieved No.1 and General Medical No.3 for patient satisfaction in HCA’s Capital Division. She has 17 years of nursing experience. Farmer received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
