HCI Update from Discipleship Director, Caleb Ives: Last night was the first meeting for the team here in North Carolina that is headed to Nigeria this summer! This past summer, Kevin Jones, Craig Blanton and myself had the opportunity to serve alongside Pastor Akintaro, Pastor Wole and the rest of the HCI-African team as we trained and encouraged believers from over 80 churches to make reproducing disciples of Jesus in their churches, workplaces, schools, and communities. It was so exciting to gather together and recount the incredible experience of this past year and anticipate the future together with our brothers and sisters in Africa. It reminded me of what a life-changing experience HCIs Short-Term missions trips offer. Many of you hear all the time about the children, the churches, the schools, the homes...and the needs. But I want to encourage you... Come and see... Come and see the hope in the eyes of a child who now sleeps in a bed. Come and see the joy in the eyes of a single mother who now has opportunity for income through the Widows Hope project. Come and see the gratitude in the smile of a child who just received a sponsor so they can receive an education.
