HCWH seeks Research Intern Brussels — HCWH Europe is looking for a dynamic, communicative intern that takes initiative and can handle a diverse workload. The intern will report to the Chemicals and Nanomaterials Policy Officer. Location: Brussels, Belgium Position type: The internship is full-time, 38 hours per week, for a period of 6 months (July to December 2013) Salary: paid internship Closing date: 10th June, 2013 HCWH is a non-profit organisation that works to transform the health sector worldwide, without compromising patient safety or care, so that it becomes ecologically sustainable and a leading advocate for environmental health and justice. Position Overview HCWH Europe is looking for a dynamic, communicative intern that takes initiative and can handle a diverse workload. The intern will report to the Chemicals and Nanomaterials Policy Officer. Responsibilities • Assist in the preparation of written materials, including reports, overviews, briefing papers and or documents on general or specific issues related with pharmaceuticals • Contribute to the creation, development and management of an online database on medical equipment • Contribute to policy work as appropriate • Provide assistance with the day-to-day operations of the Brussels office (translation, research, answering inquiries etc.) Educational/professional qualifications • Degree in Environmental Science, Public Health or related field • Experience or interest in environmental health policy Skills and Abilities • Proven competence in research and analytical writing • Working proficiency in English and French • Good written and oral communication skills in other European languages would be an advantage • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise • Enthusiastic and flexible personality with a sense of initiative and flexibility in undertaking a workload within tight deadlines • Ability to think strategically and creatively while organising time efficiently • Good working knowledge of standard office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), familiarity with website tools, prepared to acquire new skills if needed by the job How to Apply: Please send a motivation letter explaining your interest in joining HCWH Europe and the contribution you believe you could make to the organisation in no more than one A4 page and your CV to Maria José Amaral: [email protected] Closing date for applications is 10th June, 2013.
