HE CONSPIRACY OF BABANGIDA ALIYU AND SULE LAMIDO a.k.a G2 The unfolding drama in our polity is one which leaves a lot to be desired and admired as it is bringing to fore a new twist in our political development. The cross carpeting of G5 into the APC yesterday was another oil greasing the wheel of our expected political development or a clog in the same. But the compromising stance of the supposed G7 ring leader ALH. BABANGIDA ALIYU who jumped up to decline the mass move of these 5 governors into APC. However, before the PDP begins to rejoice at the decision of the Niger State governor and his Jigawa State counterpart who say they are against NOMADIC POLITICS they must take a look at their feet to see what stone is under their feet because this could mean another strategic move on the part of the G7 to completely dismember the remaining holding fabrics of the crumbled umbrella. While popular opinions are rift that Sule Lamido as member of the G9 cum G18 cum G34 that formed the PDP does not want to leave his leaking umbrella to take refuge in a solid house on the ground that he was part of the startup and will not want to be a part of its downfall, the leading Arewa Governors warring general could be a slick, unpredictable and backstabbing politician. Alh. Aliyu has been in the forefront of the numerous junketing and parleys with the opposition and now he has backed out on those of his colleagues he led on to create the storm in PDP. While we may not outrightly label him a traitor, we should not shy away from keeping a close watch on this green snake in green grass because he may be staying back to get the ear of his other northern governors to finally defect with more PDP loyalists to utterly pull the party down. The conspiracy of Aliyu may be to win the support of more Northern/Arewa solidarity vote to take another G5 out of the already depleted umbrella party. Is Aliyu not the one threatening over the weekend to uncover a list of 400 Northerners betraying the Arewa Agenda for a GEJ presidency in 2015, so why will he chose to miss this opportunity to break the majority of the umbrella he is hell bent on Northernizing? For Sule Lamido, was he not part of the G7 that gave conditions to the Presidency to keep EFCC away from them after 2015 before they can reconcile while the Presidency unleashed the anti-graft agency against his sons even before the expiration of this tenure? Was he not exchanging allegations of a case of $250mil bribe against the President so why will he back down on such a crunchy opportunity to defuse the controlling power of his rival? This is not the end of defections from the PDP which is now themed ‘PRIVATE DESPERADOES PARTY ’but the beginning of the end of the purported 60years domination of the Nigerian political landscape. The G2 of Aliyu and Lamido are on a mission to do the unthinkable and they should be considered security risk to the continuous dominance of the UMBRELLA grand old party
