HE HAS SEEN FIT! Thank you Lord for blessing me with another year to witness to your glory and love. 47 years ago, you started this journey by putting me on this earth and in the midst of fires, trials, tribulations and challenges. Despite neglect and abuse, you remained. Despite disappointment, feelings of distance and rejection, you remained. Despite all the times I was told I never would or could, you remained and through it all, proved supreme. I beat the odds! You didnt bring me this far to stop fighting for whats right because thats how you trained me. You blessed me with a strong grandmother and six strong, intelligent and driven women who instilled recognizing issues and focusing on solutions. Lord bless me with as many more years you see fit to advocate for your people of Baltimore. Lord grant me the strength and courage to continue to fight for my city. I will not stop until our streets are protected, our criminal justice system is balanced, our children are safe and our city more unified. Thank YOU for waking me this morning to celebrate this birthday with my twin sister. Amen.
