With the advent of the FNDC seeking to renew its resource consent in regards to the BOIWWS the FNDC has accepted the invitation by Nga hapu o Taiamai – Waimate and Kerikeri to begin consultation regarding this very important kaupapa. In the first instance a site visit of both the BOIWWS plant in the Waitangi Forest and then on to Te Tapu o Tahuao also in the Waitangi forest has been proposed. Te Uri Taniwha is the lead hapu as they have been identified as the hapu most immediately impacted by the BOIWWS operation. On the morning of the 25th November we will all be meeting in the Turner centre car park at 8.45am where we will start the hikoi after Karakia at 9.00am sharp.. After the site visits we will then have morning tea/lunch at Parawhenua Marae followed by our hui with the FNDC (confirmed) and the NRC. DATE: Monday 25th November BEGIN: 8.45am – Turner Centre car park MIHI / KARAKIA then site visits….. After site visits we will head back to Parawehnua Marae for hui and lunch…… I understand that the drive through the forest is more appropriate for 4x4 wheel vehicles therefore please let us know if you intend to come along on the site visits no later than the 21st November so we can make appropriate transportation For further info you can contact either Hone Mihaka at 0800 925 286 or Arnold Maunsell at 09 405 9760.
