HE PROMISES TO COMFORT PEOPLE IN NEED. But God, who comforts - TopicsExpress

HE PROMISES TO COMFORT PEOPLE IN NEED. But God, who comforts those who are troubled , comforted us when Titus came - 2 Corinthians 7:6. Paul is so honest. He was not always standing on a spiritual mountaintop, and he does not mind admitting it. He spends a lot of time in this book talking about his suffering, worry, tears and broken heart. He does not try to pretend that just because he loves Jesus, nothing hard ever happens. He admits to his struggles and hardships. He talks about troubles he was faced. He is real and vulnerable. Somehow over time, Christians have lost sight of Pauls example. Somehow we have replaced honesty with pretending. Too many Christians pretend that their lives are happy and suffer in total silence. They wont admit to their own needs and weaknesses, yet wonder does not do something. God will bring cheer and comfort to those who are in need. Do you need God to comfort you? Do you need some cheering up? Then talk to the Lord. Be honest with some people who are close to you. Be brave enough to say, I love God, but life is tough right now. God may use the Holy Spirit, or the body of believers, or the truth of his Word-but he will bring cheer to people in need.
