HE WHO OBEYS INSTRUCTION GUARDS HIS LIFE How can we claim to love Jesus if we know what is right and then fail to do it? LETS FIND OUT WHAT SCRIPTURE SAYS ‘So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin’. James 4:17 (ESV) “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46 (ESV) He who obeys instructions guards his life, but he who is contemptuous of [Gods] ways will die. Proverbs 19:16 (NIV) ‘By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother’. 1 John 3:10 (ESV) ‘And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more’. Luke 12:47-48 (ESV) What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? James 2: 14-20 (ESV) ‘On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ Matthew 7:22 (ESV) Listen! says Jesus. I am coming soon. Happy are those who obey the prophetic words in this book! Revelation 22:7 (TEB) Are you delaying doing what is right or have back-slidden? Now is the time to repent, for “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
