HE WOULD HAVE BEEN 65 TODAY. my lifelong friend alan schwartz. he died 3 weeks ago, and to celebrate his birthday, im finishing writing his eulogy. we will congregate in southern california jan. 17, to celebrate his life and his amazing inner strength that kept him going for 27 years, after he suffered a debilitating stroke. he lost much of his speech, his ability to walk, his desire to eat. but his mind stayed 100%. he was smart and funny, and really the only fellow jew ive ever known who actually enjoyed fixing things. miss you schvitz, so much. i know you loved me. i know you knew how much i loved you.
