*** HEADLINE NEWS *** PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The Fire department of St. Maarten was called into action at the Harbor on Wednesday for a dangerous chemical spill. Upon inspection, it was realized that the liquid was acid. Fire Officer Tony Gibbs told our news room that the spill resulted from an overturned container and that the spill was a dangerous situation. Fire officers had to use their HAZMAT suites in order to carry out the cleanup operation. ### PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Due to the ongoing developments on an international level, the prices of crude oil have experienced adjustments. Taking into consideration that our local prices follow the international trend, our prices for LPG (cooking gas) will also experience an adjustment. Given the aforementioned, the general public ís hereby informed that as of Thursday December 11, 2014, the maximum consumer prices of the following petroleum products have been adjusted as follows: LPG 20LB OLD PRICE Naf 45.00 per tank NEW PRICE Naf 42.00 per tank LPG 100LB OLD PRICE Naf 170.00 per tank NEW PRICE Naf 153.00 per tank LPG (BULK) OLD PRICE Naf 1.65 per LB NEW PRICE Naf 1.53 per LB Paparazzi BBM News
