HEADLINE NEWS The driver of the car that accidently plunged his car into the ÖOlfusa river last night at appr. 22:40 was luckily found this morning at 10:20 on the riverbank near Selfoss airport, in a consideable distance from where he plunged into the river-about 3 Km. He was freezing cold and very shaken when he was found and was transported to the local hospital. It´s considered a miracle that the man survived this accident because this river has really strong current and is very deep where the car went in. The car has not been found yet. About 100 people from the rescue team participated in the search, along with the police, firefighters and the coastguard. This river: Olfusa is Icelands largest river with an average flow of 423 m³/s Dear people when you are driving in Iceland please make sure that the tires on your car are safe, and according to Icelandic regulations Photos taken by Mbl.
