HEADLINESURFER alert (click photos for full view)Despite what the Daytona Beach News-Journal printed today regarding Volusia County Manger Jim Dinneens salary (yes, they got it wrong), this is the correct amount: His annual base salary WAS $220,206.32, but with the 3.5% increase Thursday from the County Council, his new base salary is $227,913.54. And unlike the print media that has been sold to an even worse company than Halifax Media for glad-handing mediocrity and drivel, Im going to publish Dinneens actual contract this weekend, and deliver on letting the public know hes very well compensated to the tune of well over $300,000. And hes not even the highest paid county official. That would be the medical examiner. And topping the list of public officials is Jeff Feasel, Halifax Healths million-dollar man. Halifax, which just went through the embarrassing Whistleblowers suit, receives taxpayer money for indigent care. And heres the most embarrassing thing about public salaries in Volusia County: The official with the biggest raise -- 4 percent increase --is Carl Watson, exec. director of the SE Volusia Advertising Authority. Hes the one who was stuffing his face on tourism entitys credit card hs first day on the job and giving free lunches to SVAA Board Chair Tom Clapsaddle. Those two have been protected by the Gang of Four: County Councils Deb Denys, Pat Northey, Pat Patterson, Doug Daniels. But its all gonna come out real soon! And the lady crying in the photo? Thats Nicol Carni, who was on a pace to equal Dinneens $300K had she not been fired a couple of years ago. She was arrested on a charge fled by the Office of State Attorney RJ Larizza, but you know what the macho state attorney is going to do about Carnis alleged misdeeds? NOTHING!!! Just like nothing regarding alleged crimes against Daytona Beach Commissioners Carl Lentz IV (strip club alleged battery) and Rob Gilliland (felony battery on elderly man (dropped). Gilliland, well-protected Republican bankrolled by Speedway gives the News-Journal a load of bull about how beer must have been spilled on him during biker rally, doesnt dare return a real reporters calls because he knows. Chief Mike Chitwood knows. City Manager Jim Chisholm knows. Theyre all afraid. But 2015 is going to be different. Its going to become the year of the GRAND JURY and yall out there are going to get fired up as I push the governor & the feds to clean it up! Councils Doug Daniels knows. So does colleague Deb Denys. Wait til you see the report on the Ocean Center with Daniels marketing wife and the millions going down the toilet. Come to think about it, when was the last time we had a big-name act at the Ocean Center? 15 years ago with Cher & Britney Spears? And how about the Daniels and illegal double homestead exemption? Ask yourself this: Why is it that Jon Kaney, fired as Waverly director, isnt calling me back, either? Hey, Im a nice guy: I even cry at movies. I need a whole separate posting on New Smyrna Beach cop shop and CRA. And Deb Denys? Heres my prediction: She wont be on the County Council a year from now! Why? Theres this little thing called using ones office for ones own alleged pecuniary gain, which is my allegation. But it wont be Larizza leading the charge: Hes one of her protectors...
