HEADS UP !!!!! For everyone who is wondering what I have been up to for several weeks with the help of a few behind the scenes people helping me out. They know who they are. Please read the following. Hello everyone, Wanted to take a minute and tell you briefly about me and what I have put together for next spring. Hi, Tim Smith here but the entire derby family calls me Flumpy. I have been a hang around for 4 years now and call SIRG Southern Illinois Roller Girls home & support my closest 6 leagues. I have gotten so much out of derby in my personal life I wanted a way to give something back. Recently I had a idea to bring together skaters from all over to skate with new faces build new friendships and expand the friendships on Facebook beyond the web. This was the giving back I was speaking of to be able to scrimmage with new skaters from all over and build Roller Derby friendships even bigger. The event is May 2nd & 3rd 2015 here in Paducah ky. We are going to attempt to break a world record that morning by skating the half marathon. The goal is 1500 skaters. Then throughout the day there will be vendors prizes give aways entertainment. Oh and sanctioned mens womens and juniors bouts. And plenty of scrimmage action to sign up for and get involved with. Over the two days. Check website for pricing there will be early bird discounts. Check for updates on the website and Facebook event page when its posted with various updates and contests. The website isforsidssakefoundation.org It is still new and being put together with updates artwork and Information daily. There will be a spreadsheet on the home page with a list of confirmed leagues that have said they will not schedule any bouts home or away that weekend. We dont want you to think you have to make that same level of commitment, but we would like you to be as much a part of the event as possible. So far there are approximately 10 leagues & one juniors that have committed. Come be a part of the start of something great and help me to give back to all of you for the awesomeness you have given to my life.
