HEADS UP: We have received two reports just this morning about people being called by the IRS claiming they owed money. The person is threatened that they would be arrested if they didnt pay using a GREENDOT CARD. During the conversation, the scammer said that he/she would have 911 call the victims phone if they didnt pay to threaten to arrest him. The victim had 911 call him two times during the conversation with the scammer. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY. THE IRS, ALONG WITH MULTIPLE OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, DO NOT ACCEPT GREENDOT CARDS AS PAYMENT. Receiving a threat to pay using that type of payment (Greendot, Moneypak, or other prepaid credit card), or payment via money wire is a red flag that it is a scam. Please talk to those who do not have access to Facebook about this scam. If you ever are concerned, please contact Green Bay Police at (920) 448-3208. If you or someone you know DOES send money, PLEASE report this to police. A report will be taken if money was sent.
