HEALTH CARE REFORM REALITY: What was that about rates not going up, Obama? Why do people keep getting letters like this one, sent to my husband by his health insurance company regarding a plan he has been in for several years? Your monthly premium will change to $$ starting with your December invoice. Your benefits will remain the same (on an included page explaining WHY the rates are going up.....and how you can reduce them if you need to.....) At ***, we understand that if your premiums go up you may need to choose a higher deductible plan with lower rates. If your plan is currently grandfathered and you decide to switch to one of our lower priced plans, your coverage will LOSE its grandfathered status. THIS MEANS YOUR NEW PLAN WILL BE SUBJECT TO ALL CHANGES IN THE RECENTLY PASSED HEALTH CARE REFORM ACT......Health Care reform imposes ADDITIONAL TAXES and FEES on health insurance to help pay for health premium SUBSIDIES, TAX CREDITS, and help finance the costs of high-risk individuals ....in 2014 and beyond (Thanks, but we will be keeping the grandfathered plan.)
