HEART-ACHE... I went to the local SPCA (dog and cat shelter) this morning, mainly because a friends dog went missing. As I walked past the cages some 50 plus dogs stepped forward to eagerly lick my hands. Some were crying out in desperation -- as if they knew their time on this earth was limited. Friends, I was so overcome with emotion... I was sobbing, but there were no tears. The heart-ache I felt was simply beyond tears. Although I wish I could take every single dog home, it was the little Fox Terrier-like girl in cage 66 that leaped right into my heart... And she will probably keep tugging at my conscience until I do something about it...
