HEARTH EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT The City of Topeka has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) dated Monday, July 7, 2014 for applicants wishing to receive Hearth Emergency Solutions Grant (HESG) funds. These funds are intended to improve the quality of emergency shelters and the services offered to homeless individuals and families in Topeka. The City estimates that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will allocate approximately $135,465 in Hearth Emergency Solutions Grant funds to the City for the 2015 grant year. These funds are divided into four components: Street Outreach, Rapid Rehousing, Shelter, and Homeless Prevention. All non-profit organizations that provide services related to these four components are encouraged to apply. Beginning Monday, July 7, 2014, the RFP and application are available in hard copy or by email from the Department of Housing & Neighborhood Development (HND), 620 S.E. Madison, 1st Floor, Topeka KS 66607. Email versions may be requested in writing to Rachelle Vega-Retana at HND or to [email protected].
