HEAVY SNOW BAND IN CENTRAL SUFFOLK COUNTY MOVING WESTWARD. Radar shows a strong band of snow moving west. Some reports of lightning. Snow rates of 2 to 3 inches an hour or more in that band as it moves west. It appears that the area on the radar is backing westward (finally) however the clock is ticking. The European had 3 to 6 inches ending 1am from central New Jersey to Eastern Long Island and it needs to do that in a hurry otherwise I will be CUTTING BACK AMOUNTS drastically on the western edge of the forecast area. i have a new map ready to go.
