HELL IS EVERLASTING FOR THE KUFFAR They will long to get out of the Fire, but never will they get out therefrom, and theirs will be a lasting torment. (Al-Maidah 5:37) Verily, those who disbelieve and did wrong [by concealing the truth about Prophet Muhammad SAW and his message of true Islamic Monotheism written with them in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], Allah will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to any way, - (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi). Except the way of Hell, to dwell therein forever, and this is ever easy for Allah. (An-Nisa 4:168-169) (Mine is) but conveyance (of the truth) from Allâh and His Messages (of Islâmic Monotheism), and whosoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger, then verily, for him is the Fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever. (Al-Jinn 72:23) Surely! Those who disbelieved in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allah is Ever Most Powerful, All Wise. (An-Nisa 4:56) Every time their skin melts away, Allah will give them new skin Surah An-Nisa 4:56 causes many kafirs to embrace Islam, because there is first-degree burn, second degree burn and third degree burn. When the burn reaches to third degree, you can’t feel pain any more. THE HELL FIRE IS PERMANENT FOR THE HYPOCRITES The hypocrites will be in the bottom of the hellfire forever. Verily, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (An-Nisa 4:145) It is permanent for a fake Muslim. The fake Muslim is the hypocrite. A fake Muslim claims to believe in the final prophet (saws) and the Quran, but inside his heart he disbelieves. A hypocrite is a fake Muslim. So be careful of calling a person a hypocrite because a hypocrite is worse than a kafir. A hypocrite is worse than a kefir. THE HELLFIRE IS TEMPORARY FOR THE SINFUL MUSLIMS (THE FAASIQ) The sinful Muslim is known as the faasiq while a hypocrite is known as a munafiq. A sinful Muslim is a person who has weaknesses. A hypocrite is known as a munafiq. Example of weaknesses may be having a girlfriend or consuming intoxicants. A sinful Muslim will not be in hellfire forever, it is only a kafir and a munafiq. There is a three category of people in this world: a Muslim, a kafir, and a munafiq. There is no such thing as a fourth category. A deviant is a Muslim. An apostate is a kafir. When the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said that 72 sects will be in hell fire except one, this means that the Muslim will come out of hell fire The fasiq is a Muslim. The evidence to prove that a fasiq will come out of hell fire is the hadith below Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, Whoever said None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a barley grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a wheat grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said, None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of an atom will be taken out of Hell. [Sahih al-Bukhari 44 Book 2, Hadith 37] The above-mentioned hadith is the evidence that no muslim will be in hell forever. All muslim will come out of hell with the intercession of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). THE KEEPERS OF HELL The angels who keep hell are known as the zabania. Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, A lying, sinful forelock! Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! (Al-Alaq 96:15-18) The keepers of hell are 19 angels. WHY19? Because it is a fitnah for the kufar. Allah (SWT) set their figure at 19 as a fitnah for the kufar I will cast him into Hell-fire And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! Burning the skins! Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). (Al-Muddaththir 74:26-30) And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty (Al-Muddaththir 74:31) When the kufar heard the number of angels to be 19, it became a fitnah for them. They claim they will beat them up. The keepers of hell fire are stern and severe and obey every single command of Allah (SWT), surah 66:6. O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. (At-Tahrim 66:6) The people of hell will beg the angels to ask Allah (SWT) make their punishment light, Surah 40:49. And those in the Fire will say to the keepers (angels) of Hell: Call upon your Lord to lighten for us the torment for a day! (Ghafir 40:49) They will ask the angels to beg Allah to make their punishment light. The leader of these angels is known as Malik. He has never smiled in his life at any time. He didn’t even smile when he saw the prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) in al isra wal miraj Evidence is surah 43:78 Verily, the Mujrimun (criminals, sinners, disbelievers, etc.) will be in the torment of Hell to abide therein forever. The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the Zalimun (polytheists, wrongdoers, etc.). And they will cry: O Malik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us. He will say: Verily you shall abide forever. Indeed We have brought the truth (Muhammad SAW with the Quran), to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth. (Az-Zukhruf 43:78) WHERE IS HELL? Paradise is above, so hell is the opposite. Hell is found in the lower earth. This is the hanbali view. Hell is below earth. Hell will speak on the day of judgment. Hell spoke to Allah (SWT) to complain it is too hot. On the Day when We will say to Hell: Are you filled? It will say: Are there any more (to come)? (Qaf 50:30) Hell argued with Paradise and say that in me are the powerful and proud. Paradise replied in me are the poor and weak and the meek. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, Paradise and the Fire (Hell) argued, and the Fire (Hell) said, I have been given the privilege of receiving the arrogant and the tyrants. Paradise said, What is the matter with me? Why do only the weak and the humble among the people enter me? On that, Allah said to Paradise. You are My Mercy which I bestow on whoever I wish of my servants. Then Allah said to the (Hell) Fire, You are my (means of) punishment by which I punish whoever I wish of my slaves. And each of you will have its fill. As for the Fire (Hell), it will not be filled till Allah puts His Foot over it whereupon it will say, Qati! Qati! At that time, it will be filled, and its different parts will come closer to each other; and Allah will not wrong any of His created beings. As regards Paradise, Allah will create a new creation to fill it with. [Translation of Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Hadith 373] So this proves Paradise and Hell were already created. Hell is very deep. The evidence is the hadith below about a stone being thrown in hell Abu Huraira reported: We were in the company of Allahs Messenger (ﷺ) that we heard a terrible sound. Thereupon Allahs Apostle (ﷺ) said: Do you know what (sound) is this? We said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he said: That is a stone, which was thrown seventy years before in Hell and it has-been constantly slipping down and now it has reached its base. [Sahih Muslim: Book 40 chapter 12 Hadith 6813 & Book 53, Hadith 36] HELL WILL BE BROUGHT NEAR IN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT The Day when man shall remember what he strove for, And Hell-fire shall be made apparent in full view for (every) one who sees, (An-Naziat 79:35-36) And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? (Al-Fajr 89:23) THE FUEL OF HELL The fuel for hell fire is three things; men, stone and pagan gods Evidence for men and stone in surah 2:24 and surah 66:6 But if you do it not, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. (Al-Baqarah 2:24) O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. (At-Tahrim 66:6) The fuel of hell is three things: - Men - Stones - The pagan gods Evidence for pagan gods is surah 21:98-99 Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping now besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! (Surely), you will enter it. Had these (idols, etc.) been aloha (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein. (Al-Anbiya 21:98-99) So those who worshipped idols, they shall see them burning with them. THE CLOTHING OF HELL The clothing will be made of fire, surah 22:19 These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord; then as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads. (Al-Hajj 22:19) The clothing of hell shall be made out of fire and melted copper. And you will see the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, polytheists, disobedient to Allah, etc.) that Day bound together in fetters; [Muqarranun in fetters; mean:- with their hands and feet tied to their necks with chains.] Their garments will be of pitch, and fire will cover their faces. (Ibrahim 14:49-50) THE HEAT OF HELL The hell fire is 70 times hotter than regular fire you cook with. Narrated Abu Huraira: Allahs Messenger (ﷺ) said, Your (ordinary) fire is one of 70 parts of the (Hell) Fire. Someone asked, O Allahs Messenger (ﷺ) This (ordinary) fire would have been sufficient (to torture the unbelievers), Allahs Apostle said, The (Hell) Fire has 69 parts more than the ordinary (worldly) fire, each part is as hot as this (worldly) fire. [Sahih al-Bukhari: Vol: 4 Book 59 Chapter 10 Hadith 3265 & Bukhari Book 59, Hadith 75] THE FOOD AND DRINKS OF HELL The food of hell cannot save you from hunger. No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. (Al-Ghashiyah 88:6-7) Verily, the tree of Zaqqum, (Ad-Dukhan 44:43) They will eat the fruits of zaaqum. Will be the food of the sinners, Like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies, Like the boiling of scalding water. (Ad-Dukhan 44:44-46) The fruits from the tree of zaaqum will boil in their stomach. It chokes people when they eat it. Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrongdoers, etc.). Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. (As-Saffat 37: 62-68) When they are thirsty, the people of hell will drink boiling water that will cut their intestine. The description of Paradise which the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2) have been promised is that in it are rivers of water the taste and smell of which are not changed; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine delicious to those who drink; and rivers of clarified honey (clear and pure) therein for them is every kind of fruit; and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who shall dwell forever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels? (Muhammad 47:15) The people of hellfire will eat food that will make them choke. The Tree of Zaqqum. Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. And a food that chokes, and a painful torment. (Al-Muzzammil 73:12-13) It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited: “O you who believe! Have fear of Allah as is His due, and die not except as Muslims. [3:102] (Then he said): ‘If a drop of Zaqqum were to be dropped on the earth, it would ruin the livelihood of the people of this world, so how about those who have no food other than it (i.e. Zaqqum)?’” [Sunan ibn Majah Vol. 1, Book 37, Hadith 4325] Another drink will be the pus from the wounds of the people of hell. So no friend has he here this Day, Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, None will eat except the Khatiun (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). (Al-Haqqah 69:35-37) This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. And other torments of similar kind, all together! (Sad 38:57-58) Another food for the people of hell is the hellfire itself. Those who rob the orphan will eat the hellfire itself. Verily, those who unjustly eat up the property of orphans, they eat up only a fire into their bellies, and they will be burnt in the blazing Fire! (An-Nisa 4:10) Verily, those who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book, and purchase a small gain therewith (of worldly things), they eat into their bellies nothing but fire. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor purify them, and theirs will be a painful torment. (Al-Baqarah 2:174) Those who eat from silver and gold utensils will eat the fire itself also. Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her) said:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, Whosoever drinks in utensils of silver, in fact, kindles in his belly the fire of Hell. [Al-Bukhari: Vol: 7 Book 69 Hadith 538 and Muslim]. The narration of Muslim is: Verily, the person who eats or drinks in utensils made of gold and silver. [Riyad as-Salihin Book 18, Hadith 285] Those who drink/eat intoxicants in dunya will be given khabal as food in hell. Khabal is the sweat of those burning in hell Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Every intoxicant is khamr (wine) and every intoxicant is forbidden. If anyone drinks wine, Allah will not accept prayer from him for forty days, but if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance. If he repeats it a fourth time, it is binding on Allah that He will give him tinat al-khabal to drink. He was asked: What is tinat al-khabal, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of Hell. If anyone serves it to a minor who does not distinguish between the lawful and the unlawful, it is binding on Allah that He will give him to drink the discharge of wounds, flowing from the inhabitants of Hell. [Sunan Abu Dawud: Hadith: 3680 & Book 27, Hadith 12] Allah (SWT) will ask a man in the Day of Judgment, would you give me everything in dunya to save yourself from hell? The man will reply yes. Allah (SWT) will reply that I asked you something much easier to simply worship Me alone. But you insisted on ascribing partners onto me Abu Said al-Khudri reported: Verily, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The least tormented of the inhabitants of the Fire would be he who would wear two shoes of Fire and his brain would boil on account of the heat of the shoes. [Sahih Muslim Book 1 Chapter 88 Hadith: 412 & Muslim Book 1, Hadith 422] Anas ibn Maalik may Allaah be pleased with him reported: “The Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: “A man from the dwellers of Hell will be asked on the Day of Resurrection: `If you possessed all that is on earth, would you ransom yourself for it?` He will reply: `Yes.` Then, he will be told (i.e., by Allaah): `I requested something far easier than this from you: I had taken a pledge from you not to associate partners with Me, but you insisted on associating with Me.” [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim Book 39 Chapter 9 Hadith 6
