HELLO DC INDIE IMPROV! I have a special project that I am casting for, and directing called, Affirmative Action. It will be an improvised play exploring the politics surrounding race, gender norms, and prevailing ignorance. Cast will likely vary in size, but I am looking for about 10 and 15 people who: -genuinely love improv and the discoveries it facilitates that both teach and entertain an audience and a cast -feel comfortable speaking for themselves and on behalf of their culture -would like to respectfully/disrespectfully explore the complexities and dynamics of sensitive subject matter -are comfortable with performing in emotionally charged situations -can remain calm and vulnerable in uncomfortable situations -have no problems playing out stereotypes and ignorance -are interested in learning something about themselves and each other Please message me if you are interested!
