HELLO, FORUM MEMBERS!! ITS TIME FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY CONTEST.... HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS: READ AND ENJOY AND LETS HAVE SOME FUN!! The following article is the first in a series of five. It contains information about Méav and the beginning of her career. Read the article carefully and remember the information. On Wednesday we will have questions about the information you read in Sundays article. There will be an email address following Wednesdays questions where you can send in your answers to these questions. We will only honor responses sent to the email address. Do not answer the questions on the Forum. If any member does this, the answers will be deleted and the member will be disqualified. We want everyone to have a fair chance. We hope everyone gets as much enjoyment reading this article as our forum member, Jan Harper, had writing it. MEAV STORY #1 Most Americans became aware of Méav as one of the original vocalists in the “Celtic Woman” concert, produced and shown by PBS during fund raising. That 2004 concert launched a love affair with the group and indeed with each of the ladies. But Méav had an established career prior to that time that we should know about. Méav is a product of County Dublin, having been born in Donnybrook. She has rich traditional roots, originating with her music loving family. She attended an Irish speaking school, and, while a classical singer and songwriter, honoring a deep well of traditional music we all love, Méav sought and achieved a terrific education at Trinity College. Méav earned a degree in Law and went on to acquire further qualification in Arts Administration. In an early interview she was heard to say that even while pursuing that degree, she was beginning to realize that she was spending a lot of time singing. In the mid 90’s, Méav performed with Anuna and was a part of the chorale group that made 4 albums during that time.
