HELLO MEMBERS. This is to update you about some of our piloting projects. Following todays meeting with DPPs(OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT) , Hon state Minister A kamuntu (WATER AND ENVIRONMENT), and Executive Director M.Mugisha. The Hon minister has directed our sustainable Integrated fruit tree growing and AGRO forestry pproject to be a national project. but to be directed and piloted by Bukoto Central Youth Link - BUCYL. we have also reached to consensus to sign a memorandum of understanding with NFA (Nation forest Authority) to supply over 3000 seedlings every season starting with this one, This project is scheduled to run for 5yr . About coffee planting. Today i have received a formal communication from OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT through DPPS , that UCDA has partnered with bukoto central youth link in promoting coffee production in bukoto central for a pilot project for 2 years with a view of rolling it out into the entire masaka district, --This season we are giving out 13500 seedling to 30 selected lead youth formers(10 from each sub-county , 450 seedlings per person) , --Establishing 7 coffee nurseries each with capacity to produce (70,000000 --Therefore the selected model piloting farmers youre reminded to get ready as soon as possible , on Friday(7th) were starting supervising your cultivated sites .
