HELLO TO MY AWESOME FACEBOOK FRIENDS! Im sorry I havent been on FB much lately, but Ive been real busy (since last June!) putting together a bunch of new INTERNATIONAL PHOTO WORKSHOPS! Ive finally gotten most of the pieces together, but everything looks really solid for 2014! The only place I couldnt pull together is INDIA! Im still looking into making that happen also, so if any of my MANY FB FRIENDS IN INDIA have some good ideas, please let me know! In the meantime, theres some great places here: TUSCANY, ICELAND, BOLIVIA, BANFF, YELLOWSTONE NAT. PARK, and even FLORIDA! And you know we are going to have A GREAT TIME ON ALL OF THEM!!! Lots of great photographs to make, lots of new experiences to soak up, and best of all, lots of great new friendships to make and enjoy for a lifetime! How can anyone resist that??!! Youve got lots of time to start saving up some money!!! And if you come up short like $20 bucks or so, let me know, Ill loan it to you! ;) :) ***ITALY - UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN: THROUGH YOUR LENS October 11-18, 2014 How would you like to travel to Italy? Then come join me next fall for this exquisite exploration of the stunning Tuscan-sunned countryside and art-steeped towns. This week-long, Terra workshop will immerse you in the art, architecture, and nature of the Chianti hills. It will emphasize photographing the landscape and rural life between Vagliagli and Radda-in-Chianti, as well as the world-renowned art of Florence. There will be charming views along the Arno River, a visit to the 1000 year old town of Siena, and the medieval architecture and narrow streets of the hill town, San Gimignano. Local village markets and the famous wineries will not be ignored! This inspiring workshop will revolve around the Tuscan Renaissance Center, a beautifully restored ex-monastery that dates back to 1203 AD. For more information contact me at (717) 377-6721 or [email protected], and visit the website of Il Chiostro: Arts, Culture, and Culinary Workshops Across Italy at ilchiostro. ***ICELAND - IMAGING THE LAND OF ICE AND FIRE: July 23-28, 2014 Prefer cooler temperatures and even wider wide open skies? How about a six day visit to Iceland? Have you ever photographed the good light at 2 am? From a small fishing village in southeast Iceland that features spectacular black beaches and the dominating white glacier, Vatnajökull, to the famous Geysir and waterfall regions, and on to the Blue Lagoon and the lava fields of Reykjanes peninsula, this workshop will focus on the stunning natural wonders of this Nordic island country. Emphasis will be placed on landscape and nature photography, but capturing memorable visual moments of the people and the towns will also be on the agenda. You will be on top of the world when you see the clarity and beauty of the images you take in this pristine paradise. For more information about this photographic opportunity organized through Tim Vollmer and Esja Travel in Iceland, contact me at (717) 377-6721 or [email protected]. ***BOLIVIA - THE FACES AND PLACES OF THE BOLIVIAN HIGHLANDS: Last Week in May, 2014 Partial to staying in the Americas? How about spending a week in the Bolivian Andes? This workshop is designed to cover the most iconic locations in this highland region including the jaw-dropping landscapes of the glacier-covered Andes, the vast Altiplano (similar to the Tibetan plateau), mystical Lake Titicaca, the otherworldly salt flats called Salar de Uyuni, and the colorful Bolivian cities of La Paz, Copacabana, and/or Potosi. There are unlimited photo opportunities in this land of native people, festivals and surreal landscapes. For registration information, contact me at (717) 377-6721 or [email protected], or Sergio Ballivian at phototours@sergiophototours or SergioPhotoTours. Tell him Raymond sent you! ***BANFF-RIDING WITH RAYMOND THROUGH THE CANADIAN ROCKIES: August 13-17, 2014 Prefer North America?? No problem. I will be making my way to the Canadian Rockies for a five day horseback and wilderness lodge adventure. Leaving from beautiful Banff and riding to the Banff Sundance Lodge via the glacier-fed waters of the Bow River, Healy and Brewster Creeks, this photographic workshop will travel along the historic Strom pack trail with the rugged Sundance Range dominating the horizon. Riders then mount up with cameras ready for the ride through Allenby Pass, for many the highlight of the trip because the climb takes us up to 8100 feet! Contact me at (717) 377-6721 or [email protected] for more information, and please visit the website of the folks coordinating the workshop at horseback/backcountry_lodge.html. PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO REGISTER FOR THIS WORKSHOP, YOU MUST CONTACT ME DIRECTLY!! ***WYOMING - YELLOWSTONE COUNTRY - May 12-18, 2014 Want to stay even closer to home? I am going to be leading a workshop at what is probably my favorite place on the planet, Yellowstone National Park. I know Yellowstone perhaps better than just about any other photographer, having spent all four seasons there on assignment for National Geographic, plus many return assignments though the years. We will begin in Cody, Wyoming, traveling up to Old Faithful and all around the vast array of rugged mountains, pastoral valleys, wild rivers and waterfalls, forests and wildflowers, and, perhaps most compelling, the geothermal features that made the park famous. Or maybe you enjoy the excitement of photographing some of the largest wild mammals still found in the United States. Grizzly and black bears, bison, wolves, elk, moose, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, and mountain goats are all within the Parks borders. Its not a matter of if you will see them; its only a matter of WHERE youll see them. For registration information, please contact me at (717) 377-6721 or [email protected], for more information, or the Palm Beach Photographic Centre organizing this workshop at (561) 253-2600 or workshop.org. ***FLORIDA - SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AT THE PALM BEACH PHOTOGRAPHIC CENTRE: Now through November, 2013 Now for those of you who want to attend workshops even closer to home, or for those of you who want to escape winters impending wrath in the heavenly tropical sunshine, I am offering a wide variety of workshops in at the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, Florida.
