HELP! I need input! My girls stay at a local boarding place (holds about 10 dogs) while Im out of town. This was their second visit this last weekend. 830 pm I received a voicemail from the place as soon my plane landed tonight. Saying Addie had freaked out about getting her nails clipped around 6 pm (which I had asked them to do before I picked them up on Wednesday. Both of my girls have had their nails clipped before too) and she ended up throwing herself off the table, biting her tongue in the process. The lady was very worried about her breathing so I headed straight there. Upon arrival around 10 pm I could tell something major was wrong. Addie could barely get up to greet me (not like her), breathing heavily with her head in an upward position, eyes not focusing in the same direction, and white gums. So I rushed her up to Michigan State University emergency vet. Only to find out she had a severe case of Pulmonary Edema where the lungs fill up with liquid. She is currently in an oxygen tank over night fighting for her life. The vet said her percentage of survival is slim. Im at loss right now. Does anyone know any more detail about the causes of Pulmonary Edema?
