JOIN OUR EMAIL EFFORT: Impatient to be rid of poor people, downtown merchants are pressuring the city and this week police have been throwing homeless folks out in the rain in Bo Diddley Plaza!! For years the homeless folks there have been allowed to seek shelter in thunderstorms on the empty stage in the plaza. Starting last Thursday night, GPD officers sent everyone out into the rain. These people and their few belongings were completely soaked and they had to sit up all night on bus benches. This abuse of people who have no choice and no resources to fight back is unacceptable!
