HELPING PEOPLE UP THE LADDER RAYBURN C HALL I was sitting here - TopicsExpress

HELPING PEOPLE UP THE LADDER RAYBURN C HALL I was sitting here a few minutes ago thinking about the Kris Kristofferson show I went to a couple of years ago. After years of entertaining and hundreds of shows those guys have to lose the drive and care that they once strived for and cherished during their hay days. Although I believe Kris actually appreciated the welcoming that he received that night, you could tell, that to him, it was another day at work for him. I begin to wonder if he ever remembers how hard it is for somebody to climb that ladder to stardom like he did. I wonder if people try to get to him to get help in the industry the way he did Johnny cash. He landed a helicopter in Johnnys backyard to give him a song he had written. Johnny recorded Sunday Morning Coming Down and that was the break that Kris needed. I wonder if he ever wonders if there is another Kris or Johnny, or Waylon out there in the audience that would like to pitch him a song. Well my thinking carried me even farther. I started thinking about my own career and my climb to the top. My foreman Frank Hulsey, was my mentor. I learned wastewater treatment operation and how to treat people from Frank that helped me be good at what I did. My superintendent, Jerry Stewart, chose me over several other candidates and gave me an opportunity to use what I had learned to supervise people and manage the plant Operation. He went against other people that didnt believe in me. I was involved with three different people that are in management at the plant right now. I saw something different in them and believed that they would be good for the people that worked for them and the operation of the plant. One of them has no use for me now. One of them, I didnt think he would work out at first, but later he did some changing, so I changed my opinion of him. One of them I hired and felt toward him the day I hired him that he would be good in management one day. I am proud to have been associated with these three men and feel like I made a good choice by believing in them and helping further their career. My believing in them was earned by their work ethnics, dedication, honestly, knowledge, skills, and wiliness to learn, so they could be good steward of the plant.
