HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN AND HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH WILL VISIT MORAY ON THURSDAY, 20TH NOVEMBER, 2014 Engagement 1 The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will arrive at Elgin Railway Station by Royal Train and will be met by Lieutenant Colonel Grenville Johnston, Her Majestys Lord Lieutenant of Moray, before continuing by car to RAF Lossiemouth. Engagement 2 The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit RAF Lossiemouth On arrival at RAF Lossiemouth, there will be a royal salute and parade before Her Majesty unveils a plaque at the new purpose-built Quick Reaction Alert facility to mark the assumption of Quick Reaction Alert (Interceptor) North duties at the Moray base. During the visit to the station, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will also meet members of Airplay, a support programme for young people whose family are in the Royal Air Force, funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund, and their families. A flypast by a Tornado (from XV(R) Sqn) and two Typhoons (from No. 1 (Fighter) Squadron and No. 6 Squadron), flying in a northerly direction, will mark the royal party’s departure from RAF Lossiemouth around mid-day. Engagement 3 The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Kinloss Barracks Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will visit Kinloss Barracks and will be received by Lieutenant Colonel Tom Marsden, Commanding Officer and a Guard of Honour. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will meet the families of service personnel before a private luncheon. Before departing, Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will meet soldiers and sign the visitors book.
