HER PETTINESS THE MAYOR I couldnt help but laugh when Aksyon Radyo Iloilo anchorman Jun Jun Sornito complained about the glaring hostility of City Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog toward the hard-hitting radio station. Sornito said Mabilog announced on his Facebook wall that classes in all elementary schools were cancelled for the second day because of the incessant rains. It seems Mabilog (he has blocked me, thats why I couldnt read his posts) wrote something to urge the public to stay posted for developments through stations DYFM, DYRI and DYSI. Aksyon Radyo DYOK was purposely omitted. Everybody knows how much Mabilog hates Aksyon Radyo. Its the only station that criticizes him without mercy for his many blunders and faults. He has filed libel cases against Jun Alojado Capulot for poking fun at his beautificaaation programs. But I agree with Aksyon Jun Jun that when it comes to public service announcements, Mabilog should subordinate his emotions to the need to keep the public informed. Mabilog should behave like a statesman. He owes it to the people to keep them informed through all possible media. Being petty doesnt sit well with his position as City Mayor.
